After eight years of planning, North Myrtle Beach Historical Museum opened on April 7, 2013. The Museum’s mission is to foster a deeper appreciation for culture, history, and science of the North Myrtle Beach area. Exhibits and programs focus on stories from the region’s first inhabitants to the development of today’s tourism industry.

The North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum exists to preserve the community pride and the rich history it encompasses. Inside you will discover just how deep the appreciation for the culture and history of North Myrtle Beach is amongst the surrounding community. Memorabilia from Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive, Crescent Beach and more rests inside the exhibits of the museum. Behind the thousands of visitors who make their way to the area each year, is a community of people who play a vital role in making this area of South Carolina great place to live and visit.
